Sensibility

Have you fallen in love with the wrong person yet? You wouldn’t know what rejection feels like then.

If you have ever been cheated upon or been compelled to question your self worth in a relationship, you must be aware of how such events probably scar you for life. You don’t know it at the moment though. You perhaps think it’s a wound that will heal with time. But you know it too now, it hurts at all the right places when you hear those words come right back to you- when those moments come screaming back at you. In those vulnerable moments you realize that the pain is here to stay. It never really goes away.

Once you have been put in a position where you have to doubt your worth in someone’s life, life never feels the same again. Every step ahead is a step towards self doubt and fear of rejection. You look whole to the world but you are torn at all those places where they had left their remarks. Their words become scars. You never really forget the trauma of not being enough even after giving all you had to someone. If your heart has been tossed once, you know it will be tossed again, by someone who thinks you are not enough, for someone who will not be enough eventually.

You know it too that people who cheat once, will eventually cheat again. But it’s not about them. It’s about us. What about our hearts that will never mend again? What about the insecurities that end up surfacing every now and then? What about our trust? What about our love? And what about our belief that love finds its way for everyone?

“Hearts are breakable,” Isabelle said. “And I think even when you heal, you’re never what you were before”.”

  1. Perfectly written. Yes, for them moving on is easy but they don’t realise what they have done to the person who was deep in love with them. Moving on for us is difficult, loving someone else again is close to impossible. Fear of rejection, fear of failure even after giving our best again. We know that if our heart break again, this time it will break forever making it unrepairable.
